ALFA Application Notes

Before you write a proposal for observing with ALFA and OMEGA-Cass please read* the Guidelines on Preparing an ALFA Proposal (pdf, also available as postscript file).

  1. Guide star magnitude should be brighter than R = 12mag for median Seeing (~1" in V-Band) conditions
  2. Guide star magnitude should be brighter than R = 14mag for best 20% Seeing (<0.6" in V-Band) conditions
  3. Guide star distance to target should not exceed 25'' in K-Band and 12'' in J-Band
