GRAVITY will provide NIR adaptive optics assisted precision narrow-angle astrometry down to 10 µas, and interferometric phase referenced imaging of faint objects with K-band magnitudes ≤ 19mag and with 4 mas angular resolution.

GRAVITY will precisely measure the fringe visibility and phase of the fringe pattern to acquire spatial knowledge of the observed object.
