Welcome, netizens, to my little corner of cyberspace! I am a staff astronomer here at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy. My primary interests are in galaxy formation, cosmology, and the high-redshift universe. Most of my work nowadays is done in the near infrared, such as the 2.2 micron image of NGC 5713 above, obtained with the 2.2m telescope at the Calar Alto observatory in Spain.
