2nd Announcement

This is the first announcement of our 3. Workshop on High-Contrast Imaging Data Reduction and Analysis for Exoplanet Search

Location: Heidelberg (IWH)

Dates : 13 April (arrival) - April 15 (departure), 2010

All members of the SPHERE aconsortium are invited to participate

Additionally we invite members of GPI and HiCiao/SEEDS to participate!

The goal of this workshop is twofold:

  • A comparison of data reduction and analysis approaches in the different attempts to directly image extrasolar planets from the ground.
    • General Approach to data reduction
    • Strategies for data analysis / how to find the planets
    • Definition and determination of detection SNR thresholds
    • Open points / future developments
  • A detailed status point regarding the ongoing data reduction and handling software development within SPHERE
    • Pipeline status / availability / usage
    • Target Data Base
    • Observation Preparation Software
    • ETC
    • Other Tools
