Updated information

7 November

The proceedings are now in press at the AIP. For more details, follow the link "Proceedings" in the panel on the left.

7 October

Just to be sure that everyone knows where they are staying, the following people have rooms booked in the Castle:

Allende Prieto, Andrae, Bailer-Jones, Berger, Bijaoui, Borne, Brown, Cole, Debosscher, Ford, Gezari, Gray, Grillmair, Haeussler, Heasley, Heavens, Hogg, Huertas-Company, Ivezic, Jimenez, Lee, Mackay, Melchior, Percival, Rest, Richards, Rix, Rockosi, Ross, Sarro, Scaringi, Wandelt, White, Wild

Everyone else is presumably staying in the hotel ("Hotel zur Post") in Kreuth (which you would have booked yourself) or has made other arrangements. If the above does not agree with where you think you are staying, please get in touch as soon as possible! The taxis will leave from this hotel in the mornings at 08:30 sharp.

For those of you giving poster presentations, you will have the opportunity at the beginning of your session to give a 1 minute summary of your poster. This is an informal workshop, so we do this free sytle, i.e. from the floor, without slides. This allows everyone to associate your face to your name/poster and gives you a chance to publicize your work. So please come prepared with an optimal 60-second summary!

Finally... the deadline for submitting your proceedings is this Friday (10 October) :-)

23 September

  1. Following a couple of last minute cancellations, the scientific programme has been modified. A few presentations have been shifted to other days.
  2. For those giving presentations, you can use your own laptop or you can give us the presentation on a memory stick (PDF only). In either case, please check your laptop/presentation with our technical assistant at the latest in the break before your talk! The wireless access in the Castle is rather intermittent, so don't rely on it for giving your presentations.
  3. Posters can be hung up any time from Monday afternoon.
  4. We have updated the proceedings instructions page. There is now a direct link to an example article (note the citation style!) and the PACS numbers (keywords). Please remember that the deadline for submissions is in 17 days (10 October).
  5. Participants are responsible for making their own way to the Hotel or to the Castle on the Monday.
  6. Registration will take place on Tuesday morning from 08:30 in the conference centre at the Castle.
  7. A self-service "honesty bar" operates in Ringberg Castle. You simply mark next to your name what you take as you take it. Please then pay for your drinks at the Castle reception before you leave.
  8. For participants staying in the Castle:
    1. The rooms will be available from around 14:00 on Monday. Dinner will be available on Monday evening to all those staying in the Castle (included in the price).
    2. All participants (other than the invited speakers) should pay the remaining cost of the castle accommodation at the reception before they leave. This is 260 Euro per person (drinks are extra).
  9. For participants staying in the Hotel:
    1. Taxis will collect participants on all mornings of the workshop. They will leave at 08:30 sharp, so please be ready in time. Taxis will also take you back to the hotel on the Tuesday and Thursday evenings; we'll let you know the times at the workshop. The cost of these taxis is covered by your conference fee.
    2. There is no formal reception, but you are of course welcome to join us on Monday evening for drinks in the Castle.
Other information is available elsewhere on this website. If you have any questions or need any assistance, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We look forward to welcoming you all in Ringberg for what promises to be a stimulating workshop!
