Miniforschung Projects
Within the group various Miniforschungs-projects can be done, the topic
will be decided upon in conversation with the applicant. Note for
north-American students: Stipends are available at www.daad.org under
the RISE program!

Diplom
We welcome students interested in doing a Diplom/Masters/Bachelors-thesis in our group.
Various projects can be done. A few well-defined projects for which we are
seeking talented students are:
- Hydrodynamic simulations of disks perturbed by embedded planets and/or companions,
and the comparison to observed millimeter wave maps of actual sources (together with
the Center for Astrophysics, Harvard).
- Analyzing the latest Spitzer Space Telescope
and Very Large Telescope Interferometer data of protoplanetary disks
using high-end multi-dimensional radiative transfer programs.
- Planet/Brown-Dwarf formation through gravitational instabilities of
protoplanetary disks (together with Prof. Dr. Ralf Klessen).
- High-end astrophysical computing using graphics cards: Supercomputing @

But other topics can also be agreed upon.
