Ringberg workshop 2008:
The high-energy astrophysics of outflows from compact objects
Conference "Jets 2021":
Extragalactic jets on all scales - launching, propagation, termination

Welcome to the web page of Christian Fendt at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany.

My main research interests are magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) processes processes in the environment of young stars and AGN, in particular the formation of astrophysical jets.

Further scientific interests are

star formation, accretion disks,
active galactic nuclei, micro-quasars, compact objects,
radio emission and optical polarization.

Together with Henrik Beuther I'm the elected ombudsperson at the MPIA. Please check out our webpage for further informations.

I'm the coordinating scientist of the
International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) for Astronomy and Cosmic Physics at the University of Heidelberg.
