Ringberg Castle Workshop on
Planetary Population Synthesis:
The Predictive Power of Planet Formation Theory
In the last decade, the fast growth of the number of known extrasolar planets has allowed to see them no more just as single objects, but as a population which is characterized by a number of statistical distributions. Planetary population synthesis is the method of choice to understand these distributions.
The goal of the workshop is to bring together leading researchers in the field to discuss the current state of the art, and to identify productive lines of inquiry.
The workshop location is the Ringberg Castle in the Bavarian Alps in southern Germany. This is one the most scenic areas in Europe and should offer a spectacular backdrop for our meeting.
To promote a vigorous interaction, the workshop is strictly limited to 48 people. The SOC looking forward to a fruitful meeting.
