The second EPoS conference took place at Ringberg Castle in the week 28 July - 1 August 2008.
The conference was devoted to the future of the field, again with substantial space for discussion after each session and at the end of each day. Three dedicated sessions on Existing and New Roads for Early Phase Star Formation Research: Modeling, Theory, Observations helped to reach this goal. Again, intense discussions revealed controversal views on many aspects of the stellar birth. Moreover, the conference featured focus group meetings which had the topics Participating in Star Formation Taste Tests, The Role of Magnetic Fields in Star Formation, and Space Missions for Star- and Planet Formation. |
