Instructions for Proceedings


 
 
Proceedings Due Date  : November 30

Step 1 :  Downloading source files
Download Source Files aspauthor.tar below and extract the files:

tar -xvf aspauthor.tar

The source files consist of a:

1. Copyright form to be signed and sent together with the final proceeding :
 copyrightform.doc and copyrightform.pdf

2. Style file :
   asp2006.sty

3. Template file to be used as an example for your tex file :
    asp_trwk_template.tex 

4. File with instructions for authors :
    aspauthor2006.pdf

Step 2 : Preparing Proceedings

Copy the template file (to keep the original version) to a file with your last name :
  example : asp_trwk_template.tex  -> afonso.tex

Length of proceedings :

Invited Talks : 10 pages
Talks              :  6 pages
Posters           :  3 pages

In the template file you should find most of the information to prepare your proceeding.
If however you need more information, please read the file aspauthor2006.pdf, containing
instruction for authors.

Step 3 :  Submitting your proceeding

Before submitting your proceeding please check for spelling errors. If you are using TexShop
on the Mac, this task is straightforward, since the program is checking while you are typing.
For other linux users, use the LaTeX utility ispell :

example : ispell afonso.tex


Please check also for printing errors, since some fonts most commonly found in images
make cause publication problems. The ASP Conference Series webpage suggests to check
the final .pdf file  with the following link

1.  Click on: Start checking files now for free
2.  Enter information, then click on: Go to step 2
3.  Choose: Browse
4.  Choose the file you wish to check


Finally, submitting your proceeding :

Please submit the proceedings (tex file and images) electronically to afonso@mpia.de.
You may want to send a tar file with your tex file and the images. In order to create a tar
 file under linux, use the following command :

example : tar -cf afonso.tar afonso.tex img1.jpg img2.jpg
